•2 packages of Ruled 3x5 White Index Cards (Please make sure that they have lines on them.)
•2 Red Pens (You just need ONE for my class.)
•1 Package #2 Pencils or 2 to 3  0.5 or 0.7 Mechanical Pencils (It's good to have extra lead if you've chosen mechanical pencils)
•1 Package of Eraser Tops and/or 1 Large Eraser
•1 pair of scissors (We do A LOT of cutting in class. I do not mind if you have a long pointed pair of "adult" scissors.)
•1 large box of Kleenex
•1 blue or black erasable pen (This will be used later in the school year.)
•1 box of 24 Crayola crayons
•1 bottle of white Elmers glue (No colored glue!)
•3 large glue sticks that dry clear
•1 box of 12 or more colored pencils (The bigger the set of colors that Mom or Dad will let you have, the better. We use these A LOT in class.)
•4 wide-lined spiral notebooks (They do not have to be different colors or wide-lined. Actually, you will only need 3 this year in class.)
•1 large package of notebook paper (Open it up and place it in one of your folders.)
•3 heavy weight pocket folders (Heavy weight is a great idea even though they are a little more expensive.)
•Inexpensive Solar Calculator (If you're using last year's calculator, make sure that it works.)
•1 highlighter marker [yellow, pink, green, blue, or orange] (It's okay to have more than one color. They're used a lot.)
•1 12-inch ruler (DO NOT waste your money on the rulers that are in links, flexible, or fold up. We can't use those. Just get a regular cheap plastic/wood ruler. Transparent plastic is best, though.)
•Please do not buy your child a portable pencil sharpener for their desks. They will be asked to take these back home on the first day of school.

Important 5-1 (Only)
•1 3-ring notebook with a 1-inch (or larger) spine (It's at least 1-inch wide along the outer edge.) I've seen them for $0.97 at Walmart and Staples. Do not buy the plastic ones with the flimsy plastic covers or ones with zippers—they won't fit inside your desk. Get one that has stiff covers and can stand up by itself. This is an important item that will be used in class. If you're not sure what to get, wait until the first day of school. I'll have one to look at. The 3-ring notebooks will not be needed until Wednesday, August 26th.

1 paint shirt – long sleeved shirt (Get one of Dad's old shirts that he doesn't want anymore!)
gym shoes – tie or Velcro (NO BLACK SOLES!!!!!)
