She taught high school home economics at Forreston High School. Miss Ruter had the greatest sense of humor and she was very skilled at what she taught. I became a home ec. teacher because of her and went to the same college she did. I remember that she used to call us "Lady-O's"! Interesting or little-known fact about you: I was the accompanist for the Highland College Royal Scots for three years after high school. For one of the variety shows I wrote a western soap opera called "As the Butter Churns" which was performed in the show and got lots of laughs. In another variety show I dressed up as Shirley Temple. I sang and tap danced to "Animal Crackers in My Soup". |
