Battleship
This is played just like the game, Battleship, except this is more portable. All you need is a pencil and a "gameboard" to play. You can use graph paper or print/download a copy of the gameboard. Print a gameboard or make your own with a piece of graph paper. If you're using graph paper, label it like the grid that you can see right. Next, each player must secretly place his or her ships on the grid. Don't let the other player see your grid! Each player will mark five ships: 1 battleshipii5 squares 1 cruiserii4 squares 2 destroyersii3 squares each 1 submarineii2 squares Once both players are ready, the first player calls out a grid square (for example, J-2). If a boat is located in that square, the second player says, "Hit!" If there is no boat on the space, the player says, "Miss!" The players then switch roles, and the second player calls out a grid square. Once a player hsa hit all the squares of a ship, that ship has "sunk." Players must say when a ship has been sunk. The winner is the first person to sink all the opponent's ships. Mark your Battleship grids using these symbols: Mark the grid square with an X when you hit a ship. Mark the grid square with an M when you miss. Shade in the grid square when a part of your ship is hit. (You can put an O on the grid square when a shot misses your ships if you like.) |
